DVR Alert: THE EDITOR AND THE DRAGON Premieres On UNC-TV Tonight

Tonight, an excellent film I saw last year at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival is premiering on UNC-TV: THE EDITOR AND THE DRAGON: HORACE CARTER FIGHTS THE KLAN at 10 pm.

Walter E. Campbell and Martin M. Clark's hour long documentary concerns UNC graduate Horace Carter's coverage of the Ku Klux Klan in the Tabor City Tribune in the 1950s. Carter's editorials did not go unnoticed by Grand Dragon Thomas Hamilton and his minions.

What I wrote after seeing it at Full Frame:

“Filmmakers and UNC graduates Campbell and Clark got Carter on camera before his 2009 death to tell his tension-filled tale that led to him getting a Pulitzer Prize in 1953. Photos, archival footage, new interviews, and Morgan Freeman narration make up the doc may be in too much of a History Channel-style, but that may be the most appropriate angle for this material.”

Watch a trailer for THE EDITOR AND THE DRAGON.
